The result of persistence in performing arts extracurricular activities.
ANTIROGO, Radar Jember – Poetry seems to have become an inseparable part of A Munif Efandi, a student of class XII PK 1 MA Unggulan Nuris Jember. His passion for poetry becamestronger when he was also active in the performing arts extracurricular provided at MA Unggulan Nuris Jember.
His talent was tested in a poetry reading competition in the regency of Jember which was held by IPNU-IPPNU PAC Balung, during the commemoration of National Santri Day, 22 October.
As a result, he successfully won first place. “About three times I participated in the competition, this is the first time I won,” he said, when met with Jawa Pos Radar Jember.
In the competition, Munif delivered a poem on the theme of a Kiai’s concern to his students. Of the 70 participants at that time, only he showed a fairly expressive style and manner. It also made the jury’s heart smitten and rewarded him as first place.
For him, poetry has its own charm. He considered that there are both advantages of poetry compared to just saying ordinary words. “Poetry is more than just exploring imagination through expression. However, poetry can remind people to be gentler, even insinuating or criticizing using figure of speech,” said the student from Ambulu.
In addition, Munif continued, his activeness during the extracurricular activities in performing arts and public speaking is considered to be very supportive of his abilities, especially in poetry. “Currently still active in extracurricular activities. Insyallah in the near future will participate in this kind of competition, poetry,” said Munif. (kl/mau/c2/lin).
